
Global AI device ecosystem company HONOR has officially launched the highly anticipated HONOR Robot Phone in China, introducing a new category of mobile technology that pushes beyond the physical limitations of conventional smartphones.
At the heart of the HONOR Robot Phone is a fully motorised mechanical gimbal integrated directly into its premium smartphone design. Combining advanced robotics, AI-powered interaction and professional-grade imaging capabilities, the device is designed to function not only as a smartphone, but also as an intelligent physical companion and powerful mobile production studio.

The launch also marks the first major product milestone under the HONOR–ARRI Cinematic Imaging Partnership, bringing selected elements of ARRI Image Science and professional cinema workflows to mobile creators.

Industry-First 4DoF Titanium Agile Gimbal
The HONOR Robot Phone features an ultra-compact 4DoF mechanical system powered by the HONOR Titanium Agile Gimbal.
Developed through 60 manufacturing processes, the system incorporates more than 100 precision components and is supported by over 100 patents. HONOR has reduced the overall system size by 65% compared with mainstream gimbals while increasing structural strength by 200%.
Its 2.6g Titanium Gimbal Motor delivers movement speeds of up to 360° per second, while the HONOR Super Steel Flip Motor achieves a torque density of 120 N·m/L, enabling fast and precise movement within a pocketable flagship form factor.
The result is a camera system capable of physically moving, tracking and repositioning itself to support new forms of hands-free shooting and intelligent interaction.
HONOR and ARRI Bring Cinematic Imaging to Mobile Creation
The Robot Phone features a Dual 200MP Camera system, led by a 200MP Agile Gimbal Main Camera equipped with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and f/1.6 aperture.
It is paired with a 200MP Periscope Telephoto Camera featuring a 1/1.4-inch sensor and 2.7x optical zoom, alongside a 50MP Ultra-Wide Camera with a 122° field of view.
The 200MP Agile Gimbal Main Camera supports 10-bit ARRI LogC3 recording in ARRI CINEMA mode, enabling creators to retain greater highlight and shadow information for post-production.
Through the HONOR–ARRI Cinematic Imaging Partnership, the Robot Phone integrates ARRI LogC3, ARRI Wide Gamut 3 and ARRI Looks with the HONOR H1 Image Chip.
AI noise reduction improves video signal-to-noise ratio by 8 dB, while AI dynamic-range optimisation supports up to 14 stops of dynamic range.
Its imaging pipeline performs noise reduction earlier in the RAW domain, processes data in 14-bit 4:4:4 and outputs 10-bit LogC3 and 4:2:2 video, preserving more usable image information throughout the production process.
Creators can also preview ARRI Looks in real time and take recorded footage into professional editing applications such as DaVinci Resolve, where ARRI LUTs can be incorporated into a complete mobile capture-to-post-production workflow.
Cinematic Imaging Partnership to Expand to HONOR Magic9 Series
HONOR and ARRI will continue to develop technologies under their Cinematic Imaging Partnership, with further advancements set to be showcased through the upcoming HONOR Magic9 Series.
The companies will continue refining integrated imaging technologies and professional workflows based on technical validation and real-world use.
Embodied AI Turns the Phone Into a Personal Camera Crew
Beyond imaging hardware, the HONOR Robot Phone introduces a new approach to multimodal embodied interaction through MagicOS.
Its camera arm supports multiple cinematic movement modes, including Tilt Lock, First Person View (FPV), FPV Vertical and AI SpinShot, giving users greater flexibility to create smooth and dynamic footage.
YOYO Robot Mode combines multimodal perception, contextual understanding, gesture recognition and physical movement.
Voice Source Localization and AI Live-Tracking allow the camera to automatically pan and tilt to keep subjects in frame during vlogging, livestreaming and video calls.
Hands-free gesture controls can also be used to deploy the camera arm and capture images or video without physically touching the phone.
Meanwhile, YOYO Auto Execution enables the system-level AI agent to understand user intent and perform complex, multi-step actions across supported applications and system settings.
Through an open Agent Skills interface, third-party developers will also be able to create experiences that take advantage of the Robot Phone’s gimbal, perception and embodied-interaction capabilities.

The HONOR Robot Phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, providing flagship-level performance for AI processing, imaging and multitasking.
A custom-built cooling system helps maintain performance during demanding workloads and extended recording sessions.
The device is powered by a 7,060mAh next-generation HONOR Silicon-carbon Battery, with support for 120W Wired HONOR SuperCharge and 50W Wireless HONOR SuperCharge.
Its premium all-metal integrated-moulding unibody houses a 6.31-inch LTPO OLED HONOR AI Eye Comfort Display protected by HONOR NanoCrystal Shield.
The display supports an adaptive 1–120Hz refresh rate, peak brightness of up to 6,800 nits, and 4320Hz PWM dimming for enhanced viewing comfort.
From MWC to Cannes and Shanghai
The commercial launch follows the HONOR Robot Phone’s global journey throughout 2026.
First showcased at Mobile World Congress 2026 in March, the device subsequently demonstrated its stabilised tracking capabilities at the Cannes Film Festival’s China Night and the 28th Shanghai International Film Festival.
With its commercial rollout now beginning, HONOR aims to make advanced cinematic creation more accessible to everyday users.
