Following its bold introduction as the Type 00 concept in Miami, Jaguar has officially pulled the wraps off the production version of the Jaguar Type 01—an all-electric 4-door grand tourer that marks a revolutionary new chapter for the brand’s design direction and EV journey. Built in the UK, the Type 01 is also the first model underpinned by the brand-new Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA).

Breathtaking Performance & Range

The Type 01 packs a massive punch under the hood, featuring an all-wheel-drive tri-motor setup (one 260kW motor up front and two 310kW motors at the rear) delivering an astonishing 1,016hp (758kW) and 1,365Nm of torque. It rockets from 0 to 100km/h in a blistering 3.2 seconds.

Energy is stored in a 118kWh battery pack running on an advanced 850-volt system, enabling a WLTP range of up to 720km. Thanks to 350kW DC fast-charging support, recharging from 10% to 80% takes just around 22 minutes, alongside standard 22kW AC charging support.

Radical Design & Aerodynamics

Measuring 5,235mm long and 1,403mm high, the Type 01 commands attention. It stands as the most aerodynamic Jaguar to date with a drag coefficient of 0.23Cd, featuring active aero elements, frameless doors, a sweeping hood, and a glassless rear tailgate. It rides on striking standard 23-inch wheels and offers 450L of boot space (expandable to 1,000L).

Luxurious 4-Seater Cabin & Cutting-Edge Tech

Inside, the 4-seater cabin is split by a central spine and loaded with next-generation tech:

• A single-glass 24-inch OLED driver display running the new Jaguar Infotainment system with conversational voice assistance.
• A separate 7-inch central touch control panel for essential controls.
• A dedicated 7-inch portrait screen integrated into the rear spine for rear passengers.
• A digital ClearSight Rear View Display integrated into a full-width 38-speaker Meridian sound system Panoramic Soundbar.
• 12-way power-adjustable front seats with massage functions, plus all four seats being heated and cooled.

Handling and ride comfort are equally impressive, featuring Dynamic Air Suspension with switchable volume air springs, twin-valve active dampers, bespoke Pirelli P Zero tyres, and an All-Wheel Steering system capable of turning the rear wheels by up to 6 degrees. For safety, it relies on an NVIDIA-powered ADAS suite utilizing 10 external cameras, 5 radar units, and 12 ultrasonic sensors.

Pricing & Availability

Priced starting from GBP130,000 (~RM704,449), the Type 01 will be available for order in early 2027, with deliveries slated for the second half of the year. While local availability in Malaysia is yet to be confirmed by Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia, there is plenty of time for anticipation to build!
