In a move set to reshape mobile content creation, Insta360 has launched its latest accessory—the Snap Selfie Screen, a compact device designed to enhance smartphone photography by enabling users to shoot with their rear cameras while maintaining full on-screen control.

The new accessory addresses a long-standing limitation in smartphone photography: while rear cameras offer superior image quality, they lack a way for users to preview shots during selfies or vlogging. Insta360’s Snap bridges this gap with a 3.5-inch touchscreen display that mirrors the phone’s camera feed in real time.

A New Way to Capture Content

Unlike traditional selfie solutions, the Snap attaches magnetically to the back of a smartphone and connects via USB-C, offering a seamless plug-and-play experience. Notably, the device requires no battery of its own, drawing power directly from the phone.

This setup allows users to take advantage of their phone’s high-quality rear cameras while framing shots accurately—an advantage particularly appealing to vloggers, influencers, and social media creators.

The screen supports real-time 4K preview, ensuring smooth and stable visuals without the lag often associated with wireless connections.

Key Features and Variants

The Snap Selfie Screen comes in two versions: a standard model and a premium variant equipped with a built-in ring light. The latter, developed in collaboration with lighting brand AMIRO, offers adjustable brightness and color temperature for improved shooting in low-light environments.

Other notable features include:

✅Touchscreen controls for zoom, exposure, and filters

✅Compatibility with third-party camera and editing apps

✅Lightweight, slim design for portability

✅Protective cover that doubles as a screen shield

✅Designed for the Creator Economy

As content creation continues to grow, Insta360’s latest release reflects a broader shift toward mobile-first production tools. By enabling precise framing and better lighting control, the Snap aims to simplify high-quality video production without requiring bulky equipment.

Industry observers note that such accessories could further blur the line between professional cameras and smartphones, especially as mobile devices continue to improve in imaging capabilities.

Availability and Pricing

The Snap Selfie Screen is currently available through Insta360’s official online store, with global shipping options. Pricing starts at approximately US$82 (around RM330), while the ring light version retails at about US$92 (around RM370).
