Xiaomi has expanded its affordable wearable line-up in Malaysia with the Xiaomi Smart Band 11 Active, a lightweight fitness tracker built around essential health monitoring, exercise tracking and long battery endurance.

The band carries a recommended retail price of RM199 in Malaysia. It was introduced with a promotional price of RM119, valid during Xiaomi Malaysia’s September 2026 launch campaign. The wearable is available in Black, Gray and Pomelo Pink through Xiaomi Stores, mi.com and the brand’s official stores on major e-commerce platforms

Compact Design with a 1.47-Inch Display

The Xiaomi Smart Band 11 Active features a 1.47-inch TFT colour display with a resolution of 172 x 320 pixels and a density of 247ppi. Its 60Hz refresh rate is intended to make scrolling through menus, notifications and fitness information feel smoother than on basic low-refresh wearable displays. Mi Poland

A curved 2.5D glass cover and rounded, watch-inspired body give the tracker a cleaner appearance, while the metallic-look frame helps it appear more refined than its entry-level positioning might suggest. It is important to note that Xiaomi describes this as a metallic finish rather than confirming a fully metal chassis.

The band body measures 43.5 x 25.8 x 10.2mm and weighs only 18g without the strap, making it light enough for continuous wear throughout the day and during sleep. The textured TPU strap is adjustable between 135mm and 215mm and uses an improved pin-and-buckle fastening designed to stay secure during exercise.

Everyday Health and Wellness Tracking

Despite its affordable price, the Xiaomi Smart Band 11 Active covers the core wellness features expected from a modern fitness band.

It supports heart-rate monitoring, blood oxygen saturation tracking, sleep analysis, all-day stress monitoring and women’s health management. The collected information is displayed through the Mi Fitness app, allowing users to review daily patterns and longer-term trends from a paired smartphone.

Continuous heart-rate monitoring can be configured at different measurement intervals, while all-day SpO₂ and advanced stress monitoring must be enabled through the application. Increasing the monitoring frequency may provide more detailed information but will also shorten battery life.

As with most consumer wearables, these functions are intended for general wellbeing and personal reference rather than medical diagnosis. Xiaomi specifically states that its SpO₂, stress, sleep and women’s health features should not replace professional medical equipment or advice. Mi Poland

50 Sports Modes and 5ATM Water Resistance

The band includes 50 exercise modes, covering common activities such as walking, running, cycling and swimming.

Its 5ATM water-resistance rating means it can withstand pressure equivalent to a depth of 50 metres under laboratory conditions. Xiaomi states that the band can be used in swimming pools, during near-shore swimming and for other shallow-water activities. It can also record exercise duration and estimated calories during swimming sessions.

However, 5ATM does not make the wearable suitable for every water-related activity. Xiaomi advises against wearing it in hot showers, saunas or while diving, and water resistance can gradually deteriorate through ordinary wear.

The official specification sheet lists a PPG health sensor and accelerometer but does not list built-in GPS. This suggests that users who want route mapping for outdoor runs or cycling sessions will need to carry a connected smartphone rather than relying on standalone satellite positioning. Mi Poland

Up to 21 Days of Battery Life

Battery endurance is one of the strongest attractions of the Xiaomi Smart Band 11 Active.

Its 300mAh battery is rated for up to 21 days in light-use mode and up to eight days under Xiaomi’s normal-use testing conditions. Charging is handled through a magnetic cable and takes less than two hours, according to the company.

The 21-day figure is based on relatively moderate usage, including less frequent heart-rate readings, manually activated SpO₂ measurements and limited weekly exercise tracking. Xiaomi’s eight-day normal-use estimate includes more frequent health measurements, advanced sleep monitoring, all-day stress tracking and a higher number of daily notifications and screen activations. Actual endurance will therefore depend heavily on the selected monitoring settings, display use, notification frequency and number of recorded workouts. Even so, the band should require considerably less frequent charging than most full-featured smartwatches.

More Than 100 Watch Faces and Basic Smart Features

Users can personalise the display with more than 100 watch faces, although some designs must be downloaded separately through the Mi Fitness app.

The band can also display smartphone notifications, calendar reminders and weather information, while providing remote controls for music playback. These functions allow users to check basic information without repeatedly reaching for their phone.

Connectivity is provided through Bluetooth 5.3 BLE, and the wearable supports phones running Android 8.0 or later and iPhones using iOS 14.0 or later.

The feature set remains intentionally simple. There is no app store, cellular connectivity or microphone and speaker system for taking calls directly from the wrist. The Smart Band 11 Active is best viewed as a fitness tracker with notification support rather than a miniature smartwatch.

Where the Compromises Lie

The most obvious compromise is the TFT display.

While its 60Hz refresh rate should make interactions feel smooth, it cannot deliver the deep blacks, stronger contrast and more premium appearance associated with an AMOLED panel. There is also no ambient-light sensor listed, meaning brightness adjustment may require manual control. Mi Poland

The sensor package is similarly focused on essentials. Buyers do not receive built-in GPS, an altimeter, electronic compass or advanced smartwatch functions. Those limitations are understandable at RM199, but they matter for users who want detailed outdoor navigation or more sophisticated training analysis.

The Smart Band 11 Active therefore competes primarily on simplicity, comfort, wellness tracking and battery life rather than advanced athletic performance.

Final Take

The Xiaomi Smart Band 11 Active is designed for buyers who want a straightforward and affordable introduction to wearable fitness tracking.

Its 1.47-inch 60Hz display, lightweight body, heart-rate and SpO₂ monitoring, sleep and stress tracking, 50 exercise modes and 5ATM protection cover the everyday essentials. The promise of up to 21 days of battery life further strengthens its appeal for users who do not want to charge another device every few days.

At its RM199 recommended retail price, the band faces competition from other affordable trackers with AMOLED displays or broader sensor packages. Nevertheless, Xiaomi’s established Mi Fitness ecosystem, cross-platform compatibility and long battery endurance make it a practical option for casual users.

For beginners, students or anyone seeking a simple device to track daily activity, sleep and basic workouts, the Xiaomi Smart Band 11 Active delivers the necessary functions without unnecessary complexity.
