Design and Build
The Galaxy Watch 7 retains the familiar yet refined design of its predecessor, featuring sleek curves, a subtle aesthetic, and personalization options. And of the highlight is the Cream ribbed Sport Band which brings you with the elegant and yet a sporty look too. Despite this, it offers military-grade durability with IP68 and 5ATM water resistance ratings, allowing it to survive up to 50 meters underwater.
Display
The AMOLED display, is available in 2 sizes which are 40mm and 44mm, provides excellent brightness, reaching up to 2,000 nits. The screen is vibrant and easily readable outdoors which is one of the things I love.
Health and Fitness Tracking
Equipped with an enhanced BioActive sensor, the watch collects extensive health data, including advanced metrics like Energy Score and body composition readings . The addition of dual-band GPS significantly improves location accuracy, particularly in urban environments with poor signal. The Sleep AI Algorithm tracks sleep with detailed metrics like sleep latency, movement, and respiratory rate, and it provides an Energy Score based on these factors.
Despite these advancements, heart rate tracking remains inconsistent, occasionally delivering inaccurate readings during workouts. The watch’s FDA-approved sleep apnea detection is a unique feature, but some health metrics, such as the AGEs index (measuring biological aging), seem underexplained and less practical.
Software and AI
Running on One UI 6 Watch atop Wear OS 5 , the Galaxy Watch 7 delivers personalized health insights and workout suggestions through Galaxy AI .
Pricing
The Galaxy Watch 7 is priced competitively where the Galaxy Watch 7 (40mm) : RM 1,199.00 (Bluetooth), Galaxy Watch 7 (44mm) : RM 1299 (Bluetooth)
Conclusion
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 is a top contender in the smartwatch market, offering a sophisticated design, durable build, and advanced health tracking features.
