For the 13th consecutive year, Canon remains the people’s choice as an unbeatable industry leader, highlighting the company’s commitment to excellence in photographic and digital imaging solutions.
The award ceremony was held on 19 January at One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya. The Putra Brand Awards stands as the only brand accolade in Malaysia that is determined by consumer votes. This year, over 11,000 votes were cast across 24 different product and service categories for nominees of leading brands from various industries.
Canon’s impressive 13-year winning streak at the Putra Brand Awards emphasises the company’s unwavering commitment to excellence, as evidenced by its position as a perennial favourite among Malaysian consumers since 2011. This spotlights the company’s sustained dedication to excellence with its wide range of products which include cameras, printers, multi-function devices and various business solutions, and affirms Canon’s status as an influential industry leader.
Canon’s popularity among consumers is also reflected in its key market achievements last year as it was ranked “No.1 for Market Share in Overall Laser Copier Based MFP in Malaysia”, “No.1 Mirrorless Camera Brand in Malaysia”, and the “No. 1 Printer in Malaysia,’ maintaining its stronghold in Inkjet and Laser printers since 1996 and 2016 respectively.

The Putra Brand Awards was launched in 2010 by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) in collaboration with Malaysia’s Most Valuable Brands (MMVB). Voting took place over an eight-week period from September to October 2023, with the responses captured by research company Ipsos and the results endorsed by the PBA board of governors which include Datuk Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz Matrade Chief Executive Officer; Tan Sri Vincent Lee, honorary life president of 4As; among other heads of media groups and advertiser associations.
