Fresh from their recent gold medal victory for the men’s doubles at the 2022 BWF World Championships in Tokyo, Malaysia duo Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik are both selected to as HONOR Malaysia’s Chief Experience Officers, to test the screen toughness of the HONOR X9a 5G.

Known for its Ultra-tough OLED Curved Display, the uniquely designed curved screen of the HONOR X9a 5G uses a deep 0.65mm Super Reinforced glass, resulting a stronger and more drop-resistant than the 0.55mm glass commonly used in the market, dispelling any potential concerns regarding the curved screen’s durability.

In a video recently released via HONOR Malaysia’s Facebook page, the duo of Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik can be seen challenging the HONOR X9a 5G, attempting to test the curved screen’s durability through a series of smashes.

Split into two challenges, the first was an attempt to break a wooden board by smashing through a shuttlecock. No sweat for the duo as they make easy work of cracking the wood. Next up, the HONOR X9a 5G was placed ahead of the similarly sized wooden board, acting as a shield. Now with precision and accuracy, the two gents picked up their racquets for round two, putting the screen resistance of the HONOR X9a 5G to the ultimate durability test. The results brought amazement.

Taking various attempts of jumping smashes – a signature technique in badminton that generates power and effectiveness – both Aaron and Soh were unable to break past the screen of the HONOR X9a 5G. Rather, the wooden board holding the phone was the one receiving its impact. After several attempts, the HONOR X9a 5G’s screen seems unscathed despite on the receiving end of multiple blows, with the wooden board being broken instead.

Verdict: HONOR X9a 5G Ultra-tough OLED Curved Display – Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik certified

Both Aaron and Soh gave their judgement that the HONOR X9a 5G was a tough one to break, as both applauded the durability of the curved screen to withstand such tests. Curved screens in smartphone designs are known for its high manufacturing costs, resulting in the usage for only flagship series smartphone. HONOR has now made this possible for the HONOR X series, accessible to more customers in experiencing the beauty of a curved screen smartphone. So there you have it, the HONOR X9a 5G standing stall once again through a series of quality tests.
